State Representative Kevin Corbin Endorses E.C. Sykes for Secretary of State

Raleigh, NC — Today, North Carolina State Representative Kevin Corbin announced his endorsement of E.C. Sykes for North Carolina Secretary of State.

“North Carolina’s businesses have been robbed of the opportunity to reach their full potential, not only by the COVID-19 pandemic, but by elected officials like Elaine Marshall who don’t understand how to help them. Rather than giving small business the tools they need to succeed, Marshall and her far-left colleagues in our state government have only hamstrung business owners with more regulation and government overreach,” said Rep. Corbin. “E.C. will be a much-needed breath of fresh air for the business community. He has the background, experience, and knowledge to come into office on day one and take off the shackles that business owners have been slowed down by, pushing our economy to new heights. I am proud to support him and look forward to working with him in November.”

“I am excited to have the endorsement of someone who has represented North Carolina values every day in his work in the legislature. Rep. Corbin has dedicated his life to public service, working tirelessly to improve his community, state, and the hardworking families he represents,” said Sykes. “I’m especially excited because Rep. Corbin understands the problems facing the business community and the ways in which our state government is making them worse. He understands that we need more political outsiders with real-world experience in office to unleash our economy and allow it to be the best in the country, attracting new businesses and all the benefits that they bring to our communities. We have a shared vision for what North Carolina’s business community can be, and I look forward to working with him to achieve that vision.”

Rep. Kevin Corbin was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2016, representing district 120, which includes parts of Cherokee, Clay, Graham, and Macon County. He has previously served on the Macon County Board of Commissioners, the Macon County School Board (20 years), and the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees. He is currently running for State Senate to represent District 50.

Rep. Corbin joins several other locally and nationally recognized leaders and public officials who have signed onto the Sykes campaign, including U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, NC House Majority Leader John Bell, NC House Agriculture Chairman Jimmy Dixon, former Lieutenant Governor and Congressman Jim Gardner, radio host Steve Noble, Founder of First Liberty and 2018 Jurist of the Year Kelly Shackelford, Focus on the Family and Family Talk founder Dr. James Dobson, civil rights leader Clarence Henderson, pro-life activist and Chloe’s Foundation founder Kurt Kondrich, and many others from every part of North Carolina.

The Sykes for Secretary of State campaign has and will continue to push Elaine Marshall to finally come out of hiding and state where she stands on the issues most important to North Carolina families in this election. As more and more public officials and activists sign onto the Sykes campaign, it becomes clearer every day that the people are begging for a businessman outsider to serve as their next Secretary of State, not a career politician.
