Fellow Patriot, 

It’s a clue.  That’s what my brother, a retired police captain, would say about Senator Ted Cruz getting involved in a state senate race.  If it is critical for one of America’s most influential senators to invest his time in an NC State campaign, important issues must be at stake.

Senator Cruz recognizes, as do the Democrats, that a Republican senate veto-proof majority will put NC on the path to limiting our government, protecting families, and restoring traditional values.  I am running for the seat that forms that majority.  Senator Cruz is supporting me, and I need your support as well.

I am a conservative, Christian businessman.  I am a small business owner and was an executive officer of a Fortune 500 manufacturing company.  As a job creator, I understand what attracts employers to North Carolina, and I will help create sustainable economic opportunities for rural and urban regions.  We are blessed to have a state that is attractive to many companies, and we need to be thoughtful about planning our growth. 

I was born and raised in Durham.  I met Susan, my wife of 36 years, while we were studying at NCSU.  We have two children, three grandchildren and were parents to many foster children.  We were homeschool parents and leaders in our church and community.  We have always been serving our community but never politically active.  We are outsiders.

We need leaders who set the direction of our state with sound economic and social policies.  I am a proven fighter for our traditional values.  I have managed companies through record growth and during hard times.  I bring a track record of business accomplishments and fighting for NC values, not opinions or talk points.  I am an engineer and problem solver, not a lawyer, a businessman, and not a lobbyist.
