Raleigh, NC — Today, North Carolina House Majority Leader John Bell announced his endorsement of E.C. Sykes for North Carolina Secretary of State.
“As the Majority Leader in the NC House of Representatives, I am proud to give my full endorsement and support to E.C. Sykes for Secretary of State. His successful background in business is exactly what we need right now during these challenging times,” said Majority Leader Bell. “Now more than ever, we need an effective and proven leader as our Secretary of State who will work with the General Assembly to help North Carolina come out of this crisis stronger.”
“I am humbled and honored to have the Majority Leader’s support and endorsement. As Majority Leader, John has repeatedly stood up to Governor Cooper’s overreach and protected not only his constituents, but all citizens of North Carolina ” said Sykes. “The principles that the Majority Leader has fought for are the same ones that are central to my campaign—maintaining the rule of law, shrinking the size of our government, helping small businesses prosper, and allowing our economy to thrive. This is what hardworking families in North Carolina care about, and it will be the reason we’re victorious in November. I appreciate the Majority Leader’s support and look forward to working hand-in-hand with him as Secretary of State.”
Majority Leader Bell joins several other locally and nationally recognized leaders and public officials who have signed onto the Sykes campaign, including U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, NC House Agriculture Chairman Jimmy Dixon, former Lieutenant Governor and Congressman Jim Gardner, the Susan B. Anthony List PAC, Founder of First Liberty and 2018 Jurist of the Year Kelly Shackelford, Focus on the Family and Family Talk founder Dr. James Dobson, civil rights leader Clarence Henderson, the Family Research Council, and many others from every part of North Carolina.
While the campaign rallies support from every corner of the state, E.C. Sykes continues to prove that he has what it takes to defeat Elaine Marshall and end her 26-year career in politics. Voters are expressing loud and clear that they want an outsider businessman in the Secretary’s office, not a continuation of the status quo.
