Raleigh, NC — Today, E.C. Sykes’ campaign for Secretary of State released its second general election ad, titled “Support the Blue.” It focuses on E.C.’s support for North Carolina’s law enforcement and Elaine Marshall’s silence on the issue of defunding the police.
“Our support for first responders should be clear and unwavering. They deserve the highest level of appreciation and respect for providing an indispensable service to our business communities and families. Instead, they’re facing an uprising of radicals who want to abolish them and live in a society of lawlessness. This is all happening while Elaine Marshall sits back and watches in silence,” said Sykes. “I’ve made it abundantly clear—I stand for the blue and will fight against any effort to defund or denigrate the important work they do. Once again, I call upon Elaine Marshall to be a leader and tell voters whether she agrees with her friends on the radical left who want to get rid of these important members of our communities. We all deserve to know.”
The Sykes campaign’s new ad, titled “Support the Blue,” can be found here. The transcript of the ad can also be found below.
“Support the Blue” comes only a week after the Sykes campaign released its first ad of the general election featuring Cal Cunningham calling Marshall a “career politician” all the way back in 2010.
The Sykes for Secretary of State campaign will continue highlighting Elaine Marshall’s silence on her support for the police. Voters and law enforcement officers have made it clear that they want to know whether she intends to keep her oath to keep North Carolina’s business communities and families safe and secure. While she remains in hiding, E.C. Sykes continues to prove that North Carolinians want a business outsider who supports their values, not a 24-year career politician more interested in catering to the radical left. E.C. Sykes: What is happening to our country? What is happening to our state? People respected the police. We’ve lost that culture in our country and because of that we’re heading down a path towards lawlessness. We’ve got men and women that fight for us. They lay down their life for us. We have every reason to stand with them, not against them. So in that process, it’s important for me to stand up and make sure that our leadership stands with our police officers. Her name is Elaine Marshall, she’s been in office for 24 years, she’s a career politician. So I’ve asked her, ‘Where do you stand?’ She will not take a position on supporting the police. I need your help. We need to call her out. I want you to know that I stand for the blue. I’m E.C. Sykes, I’m running to be your Secretary of State. God bless you and God bless North Carolina.
